Our electric bill rose to $430 two years ago and a simple A/C cleaning lowered it to $150. Totally re-pinning this. Another pinner said: "My husband owned his own A/C business for a long time and he said everything on here is the PROPER way to do this. Doing this will help the unit run more efficiently and you save $ by not paying the A/C company!"

GREAT Tip: Take Popsicle sticks and paint them the color of every wall in your house. Carry with you on the go to match furniture, curtains, decorations, etc. I've seen the full paint stirrer version of this but love this portable-sized idea!!

I want my Someday Home to be warm and inviting for guests. One idea is to create a basket filled with things the guest might need or enjoy: towels, travel-sized toiletry items, reading material, earplugs, local maps, bottled water, healthy snacks, house slippers, lint roller, Tylenol, etc.

Use boiling water and two teabags to clean hardwood floors. The tannic acid in tea creates a beautiful shine for hardwood floors. Let two teabags steep in the boiling water for a few minutes. Pour the tea into a bucket. Take a soft cloth and wring it out in the tea. The cloth merely needs to be damp, not soaked. This will enable the floor to dry quickly. Wash the floor and be ready to be amazed by the sheen.
