Use a glass hurricane or vase to create an arrangement that will last throughout the Christmas season by filling the jar with a layer of limes, red holly berries, and lemons. Top it off with stems of greenery.

DIY glitter Christmas bulbs. I tried two different ways. Elmer's glue and Martha Stewart glittering glue. Both had about the same results. I also used Martha Stewart glitter, it's so fine and goes on so much nicer than regular glitter. I just painted the glue on the bulb with a sponge brush and sprinkled the glitter on! Confession: I love these so much they stay in a hurricane jar on my book shelf all year.

Footprint Manger: use ceramic paints you find at the craft store (Hobby Lobby) and then fire it in your oven. Use a gold with a writing tip (came that way) for the straw and it comes out like a gel and more raised than the rest of the paints. Use a very fine tip brush with black paint for the writing, or use porcelain pens.

Instead of gingerbread houses (which are WAY harder): Turn ice cream cones into christmas trees & decorate. Much easier for preschoolers!

Turn mints into a serving tray! Just arrange on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper, and bake at 350 for 8-10 minutes. Let completely cool at room temperature. Great idea for a plate of cookies that you don't have to get back.
