The Happiness Delusion The notion that happiness is something you must work to ‘get’ or ‘obtain’. That happiness is a destination one must strive towards rather than a state of being inhabited in the present moment. Happiness is now, not later. Happiness is a decision, a commitment. Happiness is already. There is nowhere to go but here.

Buddhist Lotus Flower (Padma) According to Buddhist principles, the heart of a person who has not attained enlightenment is the embodiement of a lotus that has not blossomed yet. Once enlightenment has been reached their heart becomes a lotus in bloom. This is why depictions of Buddha often show him seated upon an open lotus flower.

So true!! I did this a time or two or three, lol, growing up. NEVER a good idea! The right man will love you and WANT to be with you, you will NOT be the only one working on the relationship and you will NOT have to change who you are! I will young girls could learn this lesson without having to experience it.
Definitely be yourself. Be a little careful about saying what you feel..... rather, say what the Spirit prompts. "Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who hear." E[ph. 4:29
This has always been one of my favorites.
while I do agree with this, I believe said child(ten) will remember the feeling of being left out when say, a grandparent, buys more for the other grandchild and seems to forget the others or spends significantly less, very obviously less. That makes em feel like crap and way less important. Add in zero time spent with said child from grandparent and there ya go.
children will remember...
No one will ever know how badly my fingers shake sometimes. Speaking the truth is the scariest thing I've ever done. Knowing I'm judged as evil, misunderstood, and sometimes hated hurts like hell, but my conscience won't let me be silent. I half wish I could, but I know me well enough to know I couldn't live in my own skin if I stopped trying.

Mine did. Better at choosing real friends, not fake ones that take advantage of you and hurt you time and time again. I'm so much better at choosing friends that make me a better person when I'm around them. I now choose friends who bring out the best in me and love me for who I am. What I can't stand is people that try to force me to be around the one person that brings out the worst in me.
a word for the wise
Happiness doesn't come from acquiring physical things or any amount of fame. The trick is to be truly grateful for what you have and then you will be happy with more or less of it but you are happy. Do what you love and you will enjoy life and it will be rewarding as bountiful. Gratitude for less makes more seem more of a blessing and you are grateful that you were able to spend it together.
.good to remember.
My latest viewpoint. I'm turning a new leaf...yes..again...
