Sir Thomas Morgan(1560-1653) Of Tredegar. He was knighted in 1603, became sheriff of Monmouthshire in 1612, & Member of Parliament for the same county,1624-1625. He received King Charles l at Tredegar, July 16-17 1645. My 11th Great Grandfather.

The earliest record of someone with the name Morgan living at Tredegar is 1402:Llewellyn Ap Morgan.Today Tredegar House, set in a beautiful 90 acre park, is the finest Restoration house in Wales & for over five hundred years the estate (including Ruperra Castle) was home to the Morgan family,later Lords Tredegar;one of the most powerful & influential families in the area
