Whack-a-word! Call out a word and who ever hits it first with the hammer gets to keep it. This could be a center activity with one child calling out sight words/compound words/etc., or even sentences for fluency and quick recognition.

FREEBIES - Addition and Subtraction Clip, Flip, Check Cards. Children clip the facts that add or subtract to the number on the card. Then they flip the card over to check their answers! The kids love these flip cards!

Good for Open House Make something like it.

I love the desk arrangement in this classroom. Open group concept. Student desks are in groups, but all face the smart/white/chalk board.

work boxes, have one for each student, when they finish their work they can go to their work box and pull out things to work on that the teacher has placed in there. (lets the teacher assign different things for the student/if they need extra practice in an area) - DIFFERENTIATION!

I like this arrangement 7 desks and nobody is actually facing each other I think 4 groups would fit in my room

This is a great activity to teach multiplication facts. Each student wears a fact. All day, anyone who talks to him must call him Mr. 32 ~ you get the idea! maybe secretly use with the facts that hardest for the student?

My latest greatest math tool find. Draw a number line with sharpie on a ziploc slider bag and use the slider as the tool to add or subtract two numbers. I just filled the bags with addition and subtration cards. I put a piece of white paper in the bag also because it made the numbers a little easier to see. Note: This also shows " than, which helps kids who can't grasp that concept.
