If you want a great life, work for it. Make your future the best it can be without using the past as a reason to be mediocre.
In our culture, we have been taught to worry about what others think of us. To an extent, this is very important as we should always be empathetic of others feelings. However, it does not mean that we should abandon everything we stand for. We must accept ourselves first, and then we don't need others to be pleased with us so much.
