Hallstatt, Austria ~ This is a very quaint town, literally just across a lake from an Austrian train station. The world’s oldest salt mine is here, and there are plenty of spots to fish and rent boats to drift up the river. Situated between Vienna and Salzburg, here is the perfect place for recuperation before checking out the big cities.

Great Blue Hole, #Belize The 1,000-foot wide hole is a sinkhole in the ocean. Geologists believe that an underlying cave system collapsed under increased pressure some 10,000 years ago due to rising sea levels. The dark hole descends 412 feet terminating in lightless depths where a lack of oxygen prevents most forms of life from thriving.
