I love rustic, country Christmas decorations and ideas.
Cute New Years Tradition~ Santa always forgets one present he left at the North Pole, so on New Year's eve he drops it by unnoticed. (have a neighbor ding dong ditch it with a note from Santa.) Its fun if its a "family gift" such as a movie or game to enjoy on New Years Eve. Fun way to prolong the holiday just a bit longer!
OUTDOOR CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS. Use a tension rod between front door jams to hang Christmas garlands or ornaments without any nails, staples or adhesive. Wrap in ribbon and battery powered lights. Would be useful to hang wreaths between window frames.

Cute neighbor or teacher gift idea.... Stove-top potpourri kits: one orange, 1/2 c cranberries, 1 Tbs whole cloves, 3 sticks cinnamon, a bit of grated nutmeg. Instructions: "Quarter the orange, place all in a small saucepan filled with water and simmer on lowest setting. Refill water as needed."

LOVE rustic Christimas decorations -- thinking this could be great year-round, too, just a little bigger, spelling out family's last name, hang it over the mantle
