CARPET SHAMPOO SOLUTION: 1 Cup Oxyclean* 1 Cup Febreeze* 1 Cup Distilled White Vinegar *This homemade version works fabulously! Pour contents into shampooer tank and mix with hot water to fill tank completely. This will not only clean your carpets it will also deodorize. It will smell slightly of vinegar until the carpet is dry, then will smell like febreeze... Be sure to test spot with the solution just to be safe, however this should be safe for ALL carpets.
To get rid of the nasty black gunk in your drain: 1. Boil a pot of water. 2. Meanwhile pour baking soda down the drain. 3. Once the water has reached a rolling boil pour it down the drain. 4. Let the water and baking soda work at decomposing and sterilizing the grime for 10 minutes. 5. After 10 minutes, pour 1 cup of bleach down the drain to completely kill any remaining mildew or bacteria. this process every few months. It will also keep the nasty mildew smell at bay.

De-tarnish ALL your silver ALL at once... line your sink with aluminum foil, add 1/2 c table salt, 1/2 c. baking soda, fill with hot water, then dump in all your silver! Let sit for about 30 min. The tarnish all transfers to the foil! Thanks, Susan Branch!
My grandma taught me this many years ago. Refreshing towels I use this trick all the time since I noticed my towels smelling funky. It works! - Over time, towels build up detergent and fabric softener, leaving them unable to absorb as much water and smelly. Recharge them by washing them once with hot water and 1cup vinegar, then a 2nd time with hot water and half cup baking soda. This strips the residue and leaves them fresh and able to absorb more water again. Works like a charm!
