Hope is the thing with feathers That perches in the soul, And sings the tune—without the words, And never stops at all, And sweetest in the gale is heard; And sore must be the storm That could abash the little bird That kept so many warm. I've heard it in the chillest land, And on the strangest sea; Yet, never, in extremity, It asked a crumb of me. —Emily Dickenson
A meditation to bring you back to your Self: Use the power of memory to remember very positive moments from the past. Sit quietly and bring your awareness to those happy times; your whole being will get into that state of joy and evenness. Another meditation can be done when you are near moving water (stream, waterfall or indoor fountain). Observe the flow of water and allow it to wash your mind clean, to clear out any stress and worries that weigh you down. Go with the flow and let go.
