My friend, Katelyn, is in Germany for the summer. She said that as they crossed the Rhine, she learned of an interesting tradition that has recently started on that bridge. Couples will take a lock, and attach it to the bridge's fence and throw the key into Rhine for love and good luck. So, all the way across the whole bridge the fence is covered in locks!--- katelyn is not my friend, but what an awesome thing.

"Rainforest Canyon." Taken in Oneonta Gorge, Oregon. Apparently it's just a few miles east of Multnomah Falls on the historic highway. The hike is great for all ages that can walk and it's about a half mile, but straight up a river and has a cool log jam. The canyon only gets about an hour of daylight to the floor, so if you want any warmth, start the hike at 11:45-12:15ish. There's a giant waterfall at the end, with a pool you can swim in.
