The Clinton Presidential Library in Little Rock, Arkansas was designed to cantilever over a river, echoing President Clinton's promise to build a 'bridge to the 21st Century.' It was designed by the Polshek Partnership, with exhibition space designed by Ralph Appelbaum Associates. (A mentor of mine, who is certainly no fan of the Clintons, once told me that to her, it looks like a great big giant mobile home. She used to live in a mobile home, so she could joke about it.)

Smith College Campus Center in Northampton, Massachusetts by Weiss/Manfredi Architects; the student center fosters community by bringing together all of the residential colleges, as well as helps to finish the master plan for the campus that was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted.
