French Beef Stew with Red Wine
french beef and red wine stew on garlic mashed potatoes. This was nothing short of AMAZING. However, my husband suggested that about 1/2 the amount of wine might be better, as he found that flavor to be a little more pronounced than he would like. So next time I think I will do 1/2 bottle of wine and sub beef stock for the rest. It was great the first way too!

Radishes with butter and salt is classically french, isn’t it? It’s not for everyone, but I love it. So simple and great with cocktails. Perhaps a pre-Thanksgiving dinner snack for the cooks? The creaminess of the butter cuts the spicy edge of the radish and a smoky fall whiskey cocktail is the perfect accompaniment. Try Maldon Salt if you’ve never had it. But watch out, you’ll be hooked. (And it’s pricey!)
Radishes with salt and Butter. Oh, so French
TARTIFLETTE (potato & cheese casserole, a French comfort food): 3 large potatoes, peeled and sliced; 7 slices bacon, chopped; 1 T butter; 1 large onion, sliced; 1/4 cup white wine; 2 T creme fraiche; 1 (8 oz) round Reblochon cheese; salt & ground black pepper to taste. [[You can substitute Brie or Munster for Reblochon cheese.]]
Tartiflette, a French comfort food. Lovely cheese melted on crispy potatoes, flavoured with bacon and spiced with thyme; together forming a warm and absolutely delicious ensemble.
