Rideau Canal, Ottawa. The Ottawa Locks are the first of 45 locks (24 lockstations) on the 202 kilometre (125 mile) Rideau Canal. The Ottawa Locks are framed by Parliament Hill on one side and the Fairmont Chateau Laurier hotel on the other.
