Dell expands production into Ireland - 1984

Dell was among the first to introduce color displays on laptops

1985 - The first Dell computer (still under the PC’s Limited brand) is born. By being able to buy direct from the manufacturer, customers find the price of the new Turbo PC, at $ 795, well within reach.

1996 - Dell moves its corporate headquarters to Round Rock, Texas, just a few miles from the dorm room where it all began.

1991 – Fortune magazine features Dell in the list of America’s 100 Fastest-Growing Companies.

1983 - Businesses discover an unlikely resource for computers and upgrades: University of Texas at Austin pre-med freshman Michael Dell. He leaves at the end of the school year to focus on his startup, PC’s Limited. This is a handwritten invoice by Michael for an early PC’s Limited order.
