Stocking tree, if you have no mantle.|| This could certainly be upgraded by wrapping a ribbon around post to make it look like a candy cane, same could be done w/paint & addition of big fabric bow at top. Other Christmas designs could be painted/stenciled on: holly, ornaments, Santa, snowmen, reindeer, candy canes.... You could also hang a wreath, with or without lights, on a topmost hook. Make it MORE special: Have a ceremony Christmas Eve placing "Santa" key on post so Santa can leave gifts!

Wood sign made out of 1x6 pine boards. Stain: with a color called "sunbleached" and wrote Luke 2:11 with a Sharpie paint pen. (She went with sunbleached instead of a darker wood stain 1. because of her dark chocolate wall and 2. because this stain has a silver, distressed look which goes with the rest of her silver/white decorations).
old crate filled with logs, greens, pinecones, and lights...This would look great on a porch by the front door!
