VICTORIAN LEVIATHAN: The Great Eastern was a marvel of her age: a steam and sail vessel with two sidewheels, 6 sailing masts & 4 boilers. At 207 (l) x 25 (w) meters in dimension, she could easily transport either 4000 passengers or 10000 troops around the world without stopping along the way. Sadly she was expensive to run and passed thru different owners until she was eventually being scrapped. It took 2 years to dismantle her & a body was found in the double walled hull during dismantling
