Veteran forward Al Harrington provided scoring, leadership and toughness for the Nuggets all season. As one of the NBA's top sixth men, he scored at least 10 points in a team-best 53 games and played the final six weeks of the regular season and playoffs with a torn meniscus in his right knee.
In his Nuggets debut on March 21, center JaVale McGee grabbed an offensive rebound on a missed free throw and scored the game-winning points against the Detroit Pistons. McGee went on to average 10.3 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.55 blocks in 28 games after being acquired from the Washington Wizards.
After being fouled on a three-pointer with 0.6 seconds remaining, Nuggets guard Arron Afflalo drained three consecutive free throws to force overtime against the Sacramento Kings on March 5. Afflalo finished with a career-high 32 points in Denver's 119-116 victory.
