Lucy Slivinski, a sculptor in Chicago who makes lighting fixtures out of salvaged metal scraps, attributes her affinity for recycling to her grandparents, who recycled as a matter of necessity during the Depression.
Tanya Clarke (a California-based designer), daughter of environmental activist Tony Clarke, designed this water-awareness light fixture to “create a visual reminder of the precious commodity that water is and our need to protect this natural resource.” Made from recycled plumbing & hardware materials, illuminated with LEDs.
