I AM DOING THIS! "Following my high school graduation ceremony my dad handed me a bag with a copy of Oh the Places You’ll Go, by Doctor Seuss inside. I open it up and on the first page I see a short paragraph written by none other than my kindergarten teacher. My dad tells me “Every year, for the past 13 years, since the day you started kindergarten I’ve gotten every teacher, coach, and principal to write a little something about you inside this book."
50 rules for Dads with daughters... Warning: This will make you cry.... My favorite is 44. Write her a handwritten letter every year on her birthday. Give them to her when she goes off to college, becomes a mother herself, or when you think she needs them most.
LOVE this idea for the first morning our Elf is here! Mel the Elf, swimming in a sink of mini marshmallows, and a bowl of powdered donuts for breakfast with a little treat for the kids, and of course the Elf on a Shelf book to read!
Another "calming jar" idea: your kids shake the bottle and then have to watch it till the glitter settles to the bottom. This one has the advantage of being in non-breakable plastic bottles. Also, you can superglue the lids on, so the kids don't open the bottles and drink the glitter glue while they're "calming down."
might have to give this a try
Love this as a way of displaying school art
