Chinese artist Xu Bing's two monumental phoenixes fabricated from construction and demolition debris from building sites in Beijing. Each nearly 100 feet long and weighing over 20 tons, these massive birds took 2 years to create. The Phoenix...a symbol of prosperity, fertility and eternity. They hang from the ceiling of an equally massive gallery at Mass MoCA, North Adams.
