#myfirstquilt... @bandtees @diyweddinggift
Early in 2012, I was pondering an upcoming wedding, and what might be the perfect gift. This is what I arrived at, and let me tell you, this project was no effen joke! Special thanks to quiltaddictsanonymous.com for the awesome online tutorials. (For some reason, this is best viewed in reverse posting order...)
Alternate shot of the finished project. (Both PIL and Bowie shirts were procured from actual shows.)
Quilting is done and now pinning the binding. Here I'll also shout out to @lizolson for designing my sweet! crafting logo.
Close-up of the pinning and the marking, and a shout out to the wonderful Bad Luck City.
Here, the front has been assembled and the squares have been marked for the actual quilting. Quilters call this part "the sandwich." ...speaking of quilters, there were times in this project when I felt very close to my late great-grandmother, Daisy. She made heirloom quilts.
Here, I'm doing a happy dance because all 24 squares were done and I got to lay them out on my kitchen floor...
Denver greats the Warlock Pinchers included here... thanks so much @mamazshanna for donating a yard of this supercool black and white print, and for counseling me through fabric matching anxiety.
Fabric matching is not for the faint of heart! ...this hip hop print is from a pair of little boys PJs.
After watching several YouTube tutorials and fusing the tees with interfacing, here I'm really getting started...
