Excavated small hole from top & put it on the other side of cake. Transferred cake to job site. Iced it. Ground = brown sugar, cocoa powder, butter cream icing, & Demerara sugar. Food processed cookie part of Oreos for dirt piles. Placed CAT machines (5 pack $6 @ Target). Topped w/ chocolate candy rocks & candy corn construction cones.

First I took a 9 inch round cake pan and matched it up with the side of a cardboard box big enough to fit the vehicles and the Caution tape beside the cake. Cut the box and lined it with wax paper and Caution tape. Baked the cake according to directions. Scooped a small hole off of the top edge and put that piece on the other side of the cake. Transferred cake to the "site." Iced it. Made the "ground" out of brown sugar, chocolate butter cream icing, and Demerara (coarse) sugar. I used the food processor to turn the cookie part of Oreos to dust and made mounds with those. Assembled the CAT machines (5 pack was a few bucks at Target). Finishing touch was chocolate candy rocks and candy corn for construction cones. It was delicious and there were no leftovers!
