Save the cooking water and feed your plants! Mom used to do this all the time! When you prepare corn on the cob, pasta, potatoes, or other vegetables, don’t pour the hot water down the drain. Instead, remove the food with tongs or a slotted spoon. When the water has cooled dump it directly onto a thirsty plant, or save it in a large container to take out to your garden later.
