Martha Stewart Harvest Wreath: It may be too soon for boughs of holly, but now is just the moment for a crisp-as-fall wreath made with artfully layered dried cornhusks. We hung ours over an antique mirror using golden satin ribbon, secured at the top with tacks Small gourds, interspersed with candles and berries, complete the display. Harvest Wreath How-To: You'll need four to five 8-ounce bags of dried cornhusks to cover an 18-inch straw wreath form. (Husks are inexpensive and available at crafts stores and Mexican food shops.) Soak husks in water until pliable, about 10 minutes, and tear into 2-inch-wide strips. Bend 1 strip in half, and attach to wreath form with a U pin. Working from the inside of the wreath form outward, create rows of 4 or 5 strips. Circle the wreath form as you go, overlapping rows so pinned edges stay hidden.
Write a holiday greeting on a mirror with temporary window paint (available at crafts stores). Follow the manufacturer's instructions to ensure the paint can be removed after the season.
