Book after Delirium. o to the m to the g. I'm about half way through and have gotta say: I think it does a better job than HG in illustrating the whole oppression/resistance issue.
Another first book in a new series! Made all the top ten lists for teen fiction and I stayed up until 3am Christmas morning finishing it!
Though this is classified as a young adult, there aren't too many kids I would hand it to. Hands down saddest book I have ever read -- cried my eyes out. It is beautifully written, and very powerful, but not for kids. It broke my mother's heart, and my daughter's heart, and the heart of a granddaughter that lost a grandma to cancer. Unforgettable, earth-shaking. siobhan dowd, awesom book, artworks, monster call, patrick ness, monsters, teen books, reading lists, bedroom windows
A Monster Calls- a book librarians want kids to want to read, but is really more for adults who love beautiful illustrations and amazing prose.
