Holiday Reading List 2013. I love Bill Bryson! This sounds like an exciting read (And reading books about flight while flying is delightfully meta!)

Holiday Reading List 2013. Described as "A lively parody of a 19th-century novel." by the New York Times.

I desperately need this book.

Ok, I really love the movie version of this with all its fast talking. Wonder if the book's any good.

Hilarious, poignant, and doesn't pull any punches. I love everything about this book. The library BETTER have it on tape or they'll have some 'splaining to do.

Possible book on tape for my car ride west...

Harriet Lerner says of this book, "He dispenses no advice, but his book will give you wisdom and courage, no matter how different you think your story is from his." Sparked my interest.

Curses, Prostitutes, and Christina Rossetti, all in all a win. Hope the book itself is as good as the description (NPR seems to think so)

Sounds fun. NPR recommendation.

I checked it out at the beginning of the semester, but got covered up. I want to get back to it this summer.

I heard Karen Russel interviewed on Fresh Air last year and I've wanted to read this book ever since.

Read it many (cough) moons ago, and loved it.

It's possible the Nine Taylors by Dorothy Sayers is the best mystery novel ever written.

The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes. One of my favorite collections. The Memoirs are good too.

the Hunger Games! Been on my list for a long, long time.

Really lovely. Using this in a class I'm teaching.
