The mission of the Lyon County Museum and Historical Society is to provide education and research, and to promote the appreciation of our unique heritage through the preservation, exhibition, and interpretation of artifacts and archival materials representing the history of Lyon County, Kansas.

Mr. K's Bike Museum houses a collection of over sixty-plus bicycles, wheel toys, and related items as well as guest home and one-room school memorabilia.

Lyon State Fishing Lake is 20 minutes from Emporia, and one of the most visited lakes in Kansas. It features include hunting, boating, camping, swimming, fishing, and bird watching. It also includes a picnic area.
