Former Pinner...to early childhood winters...We would wear these with shoes inside them. And in snow we would wear bread bags over the shoes but inside the boots!!!!
It was so much fun sewing cute dresses for our three daughters :-)

It is a perm machine! ? not a Gallia Hair-dryer. (1935) My mother was a beautician during this time and in the early 40's, I remember seeing her use this machine. If you left it on the hair too long, it could actually burn the hair off.
