My first furniture re-do using Annie Sloan chalk paint in Emporer's Silk. I found this piece at the consignment store and it was originally black with gold flowers on the front and sides and the top was full of scratches. I used clear wax, distressed a bit then did a layer of dark wax. I couldn't choose just one knob, because I love them all!!

How to get the rustic furniture look! 1. Buy something cheap at a second hand store. 2. Paint the furniture, the color of your choice (a couple coats at least) 3. Once the paint is TOTALLY dry sand the edges such as around the corners and legs of your end table. Sand wherever there are details and grooves in your piece of furniture. 4. Enjoy your piece of fine vintage furniture!

After seeing this, I now know for certain that I MUST paint at least ONE piece of his bedroom furniture red (but a rustic barn red) and distress it. Using distressed black hardware in place of white.
