Converted silo on a farm. They've put in three stories—kitchen/bath at the bottom, office/sitting room above (where the balcony is), bedroom at the top. It's all connected by a staircase that spirals around, and the sound of rain on the roof is lovely.
Grain silos dot the countryside, a symbol of simple rural living with their simple shapes and metal-clad exteriors. But they arent just for storing grain they can be marvelous homes and hotels as well. The Silo at the Gruene Homestead Inn has been transformed into a 1 bedroom loft apartment, while the Abbey Road Farm Bed Breakfast has three grain silos incorporated into one large structure.
