Old Woman - Gustav Klimt, 1909

"The Kiss" by Gustave Klimt (1907) is his most famous work. He used oil paints and gold leaf as his medium. His inspiration came from the Byzantine mosaics he saw during a trip to Italy a few years before the conception of this work.

She actually died on Jan. 24, 1925. But some paintings of hers didn't make it through the holocaust.

Klimt! One of the gratest artist in Art Nouveau. ♥ Hector and I owned "The Kiss", but I'd LOVE to add this to my collection!

To emphasize being together as a family, rather than having material items as a focus. I honestly did not notice the nudity, the colors and the abstract shapes are what's appealing about this work. But that's just me.

    Why are they naked??
