Dishfunctional Designs: Bookish: Upcycled & Repurposed Books and Pages {this sight is full of ideas of what to do with old, worn-out, torn books}

    Was working on this project last year & didn't finish! Then, I moved, & all my craft stuff was in storage..... it was so long that I didnt remember the finer details of what I had been doing. So glad to see this pin! Thank you! PS~ It's going to be gorgeous when it's finshed!

Must make this! I love decor fashioned from old books, even if it does pain me just a tiny bit thinking about those old books being torn up...

Tissue Box cover - decoupage anything on it (old recipes in the kitchen, children's book pages in the kids' rooms). MUCH cheaper than those you can buy at the store and NO MORE horrible Kleenex box designs (who designs those things anyway!!)

stamping on old book page. would make sentiment smaller

This is an origami-ish craft that has been fun for me for a few days now. It's not real origami because it requires cutting and glue. I use hot glue because it's sturdy. I bought an old atlas at Ocean State Job lot and have been making them out of maps, though previously I had been making them from pages of a Russian book. :-)

plasticizing paper ~ with hardware store silicon to make an oilcloth-like fabric . That you can then sew .

Little Flowers In Saltshaker Vase made from old book pages and maybe even a hymnal or sheet music. These little flowers are soo different from the normal run of use of antique pages. This looks like a petite flower with a lot of potential variations. Have fun!!

DIY Anthropologie Inspired Library Stack Necklace (inspiration here). I posted an Anthro Inspired Book Stack necklace here, but this tutorial from malmow looks much more like the inspiration piece. She used a headpin, old book pages or recycled paper, a necklace chain, and small leather strips. Tutorial at Craftster here.

Use pages from an old book, stamp and fold them into small gift bags. Tutorial in English and Swedish. Cool, thanks so xox

    Look pretty but not sure about ripping a book up..maybe a newspaper and seal?

painting on old book pages. kills me to think of doing this to a book, and yet it is so beautiful. Might be a thrift store purchase in my future.

    Every library has book sales. Go to the section where no one is looking, and buy any boring book no one will ever read again. It's cheap, and bonus, you'll be giving your library the money to buy a new book.

Tweak It Tuesday - beach decor from old books, old books made into home decor, folded books, book page art
