Sewing Area

Craft and sewing room: like the uplit shelf around the top of the walls and the chandelier.

This woman took several small area rugs (bought for 4 dollars at Target) and sewed them together with a simple stitch in a contrasting color. Very cool! And cheap! A large rug for less than 20 bucks!!

Lace shirt by deirdre || Sewing idea: Turn tshirt backwards (maybe not necessary), create lace insert where new chest area will be, cut deep back.

No Sew Curtains... love this idea. I think I'm going to use this idea to replace all of my curtains in my living area :)

Another sewing room work table idea! :) I like how the work surface extends over the edges of the storage areas.

Love this setup for a sewing area - need the board for storage (even though I don't have that much stuff)!

Want to design the perfect sewing area that works for YOU? Here's how I created my sewing area, including repainting a Craigslist desk and a chandelier-turned trash can.

This wall hanging was designed for a nursery. Also useful for a sewing area, maybe an office...

DIY Take-A-Long Bed! Take 5 pillowcases, sew them together and then put pillows in them. Next gift for my nieces for sure!!

Sewing/craft nook organization - love the brightly painted peg board and the mason jars for organization.

A pretty sewing space. This is why I'm going to learn to sew - I want to make and be surrounded by pretty patterns!

Sewing Rooms In Small Spaces | Fig. 2: Illustration of a well-designed sewing area. - and anything else you never really knew you needed to know!!!

10 different ways to use a fabric softener sheet... (P.S. They forgot the hair static trick and I also use them in my air vents and or furnace filter at home to keep the house smelling nice.)

craft room organization... I still like my craft area, but there are some great ideas in here!

Ruler spool holders. Making this today to organize my sewing area:)

The vibrant red totally energizes me.

Painted and stenciled desk. I may do this with my old sewing machine tables (I have four!)

Stitching in the Ditch. Do you know how to do this great little technique? Let me show you how to sew into previously sewn seams and other areas to hold layers of fabric together without the stitching appearing on the right side of your garment. I would LOVE a little setup like this...I could use the desk for sewing, scrapbooking, OR writing.

From IKEA Hackers: An ironing board-topped "Norden" side table. Love this idea for the Permanent Craft Room/Sewing Area. (I'd still want my folding one for the bedroom, for actual laundry ironing.)

Refashion a sweatshirt - and it links to another great sweatshirt tutorial

(from mandy: i like this idea only if there's a specific room/area for craftycrafts, know what i mean?) I love this art idea. Maybe use the word "Craft" instead of Sew! (I know it's longer, but I do more crafting than anything).
