Grapes ripening on the vine: Autumn,, and the harvest, called "la vendange" in France, are on the way. Marked by festivals and fairs, it is a wonderful season to visit one of the wine regions of France. So many to choose from!

R is for Rioja, or La Rioja, a region of Spain not to be missed. Dotted with picturesque vinyards, the rioja wine from this region is so special even a minor planet is named after it (209083 Rioja is it's name)
