CANCUN, Mexico -- Mexican authorities have arrested a former university professor who was on the FBI's Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list in the resort city of Playa del Carmen. Prosecutor Gaspar Armando Garcia Torres said Walter Lee Williams, 64, is wanted on charges of sexual exploitation of children and traveling abroad for the purpose of engaging in sexual acts with children.
The Lynching of Jesse Washington - Jesse Washington, a teenage African-American farmhand, was lynched in Waco, Texas, on May 15, 1916, in what became a well-known example of racially motivated lynching. Washington was accused of raping and murdering the wife of his white employer in rural Robinson, Texas. There were no eyewitnesses to the crime, but during his interrogation by the McLennan County sheriff he signed a confession and described the location of the murder weapon
The Bloody Benders were an alleged family of serial killers who owned a small general store and inn in Osage township, Labette County, Kansas from 1871 to 1873. Julius Streicher - Owner and publisher of the anti-Semitic weekly, Der Stürmer, and one of the most despicable creatures to emerge from the Third Reich. Der Stürmer was the Natl. Enquirer über alles of it's day, substituting pornographic accounts of Jewish men raping German maidens for gossip, and re-introducing the "blood libel" against the Jews, accusing them of murdering German children and using the blood to make bread for holy festivals. Streicher was hanged for war crimes in 1946.
Dr Herta Oberheuser performed gruesome experiments on prisoners of the Ravensbrück concentration camp. Working under the other arch butcher, Karl Gebharrdt, she removed limps from children, deliberately inflicted wounds on her victims and then rubbed foreign objects, like rusty nails and sawdust into the wounds in order to simulate battlefield injuries. She escaped the gallows,practiced medicine until 1956, and lost her license when a Ravensbrück survivor recognized her. She died in 1978.
