Patriotic and Quilts of Valor
red, white and blue quilts, patriotic, Quilts of Valor
"One Nation" by Heidi Pridemore is from the July/August issue of Love of Quilting magazine. This patriotic red, white, and blue quilt pattern features hearts and pinwheels to fill the star quilt blocks that encircle the large center quilted medallion.
Inscribed over the chapel doors at the United States Naval Academy, Non sibi sed patriae-Not for self but for country-is a simple but powerful statement. This quilt, Non Sibi Sed Patriae, was made by Tony Jacobson in honor of Seaman First Class Vernon C. Gaworski, who served on the U.S.S. Aaron Ward.
Make, and donate if you wish, this easy Quilt of Valor. Patriotic prints are plentiful and if, by chance, you cannot find them, simple red, white, and blue fabrics will do an equally honorable job. This quilt, America the Beautiful by Florence Moy, is fat quarter friendly.
