This is actually what life with dyscalculia is like... your brain shouts out a different number from what your fingers are putting down and from what your eyes see

Dyscalculia....Although I have not been diagnosed with this - the fact I cannot even add up simple numbers, cannot remember numbers and often write them backwards kind of makes me think I have a bit of a math problem. You think!?!

What is dyscalculia? People with dyscalculia have difficulties with numbers. The latest studies estimate over 5% of the population has dyscalculia, equating to more than 3 million UK citizens. Most have never been diagnosed. Dyscalculia is found in people from all backgrounds, cultures and levels of intellectual ability. Interestingly, about 40% of dyslexics also have dyscalculia. How are people with dyscalculia different? Dyscalculia is something you are born with.....

Developmental dyscalculia is a difficulty in learning mathematics which is thought to affect 3-6% of the population and may be due, at least in part, to a dysfunction of areas of the brain that represent numerical information.
