The Berliner Dom was the protestant answer to St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome. This cathedral was designed by German architect Julius Raschdorff. It was constructed between 1894 and 1905 in Baroque style with Italian Renaissance influences.During World War II the building was severely damaged after it was hit by a bomb. In the restored interior you can see the beautiful stained glass, a golden altar with the 12 apostles and an impressive Sauer organ.
