French Onion and Bacon Tart
I'm preparing this quiche (freezing) for the holidays. Adding a hash browns crust instead of the recipe crust included. To make a hash brown crust: 30oz hash browns pressed into the pan, then 8 T of butter poured over the potatoes,to coat; bake until browned. Let cool; then add the quiche ingredients; freeze until firm, then properly cover the quiche with saran wrap & foil, until time to bake. Note: don't defrost before baking. When making a hash brown/potato crust, do not use a tart/quiche pan. Use a pie or decorative plate.
Prepared this quiche to freeze for the holidays (omitted the crust recipe for my own) and it is VERY tasty! Took the left-over filling and baked in a small oven-proof bowl and we loved it. Give the quiche 5-stars for families that love to try something a 'wee' bit different than the 'norm.'
