Candy Experiments: Experiments

Erosion experiment - rain, glacial and wind

Tunstall's Teaching Tidbits: Discovery Bottles

pour whole milk and add red bull - let sit 5 minutes and the acid in the red bull will cause the protein in the milk to separate - liquid changing to solid!

Materials: Light Karo syrup, water, vegetable oil, Dawn dish soap (blue), rubbing alcohol, lamp oil, honey, graduated cylinder, food coloring, food baster, portion cups. Layers simulate the density of the liquids. You can also give items such as eraser, bolt, rock, bead etc. so students can determine the density of the materials.

The Leak-Proof Bag experiment...great for reinforcing the Scientific Method.

States of Matter: baking soda in a balloon, on top of a bottle filled with vinegar makes a gas and fills up the balloon.

States of Matter: mentos (solid) in diet coke (liquid) creates a gas
