Colombian Handicrafts

From Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta in the northeast of Colombia the bags are woven by female members of the indigenous Kankuamo tribe

This exquisite necklace is the epitome of less is more. A single, beautiful flower with eight delicate tagua petals. Slides on a string of brown faux suede with an adjustable length of twenty inches. Can be worn as a regular necklace or a fashionable choker. This tagua necklace is fair trade and ethically handmade in Colombia using eco friendly dyes.

San Agustin Statuette. Near San Agustin, Colombia a pre Incan culture left many carved statues in and near their tombs and sacred places. Many of the statues depict a rather blood thirsty deity. An hour walk from town brings one to a site of excavated tombs and a display of statues and statuettes in a forest reserve trail.
