Have a student sit on chair in front of white board and have others write a positive phrase about them, then take a picture. Don't let them see it...till they get the photo! Such a great end of the year activity or for those days when students are using unkind words about one another. If I become a Teacher, this is sooo happening!

Create letters for your bulletin board using 8 1/2 x 11 inch scrapbook paper that is placed on the landscape setting in Microsoft Publisher. You can use Word Art to make fancy letters, or use the fonts available in the program. I print them as “outline with no fill color” and feed the scrapbook paper through my printer. Students will have 4 pencils at a time in their pocket. They will get 2 sharp ones in the morning, and they can exchange as needed througout the day. At the end of the day, they makes sure all their pencils are in their pockets. Then, I'll sharpen everyone's before the next morning. I am trying this for 2 reasons 1) I can't stand kids getting up to sharpen pencils all day! 2) I don't want kids to use my electric pencil sharpener, because well, they don't last as long!

to restore dry erase boards that are hard to erase: spray a clean board with wd40, wipe dry with paper towels. the wd40 fills in the dried pores of the board that hold in marker ink, making it easier to erase.
