Wonderful tips! (A couple of which I've not found elsewhere)! She's right about Park Hoppers not being a good value (& possibly not even necessary); but we buy them because it takes us 1 1/2 days each to do MK & Epcot. AK takes us 1/2 day & then we go to Epcot for dinner. And I like her tip #9. (We've also used Disney Visa & had 6 months to pay our trip off interest-free. But taking on an extra CC is not recommended unless it makes sense for you & you're willing to pay it off to avoid interest).

  • Anita Boeira

That's a fair warning on the CC. It made sense for me because my boyfriend (now husband) and I had just moved in together and we wanted to share a CC independent from our personal accounts for expenses, and I picked one with good miles to help out with the trip expenses.

  • Great Walt Disney World Tips

Miles are a definite advantage, too, Anita. I actually only use my Disney card for Disney expenses ... because I get a better return on points with my other cards.

  • Anita Boeira

Yeah, that's what I thought too. I looked into the Disney card, but it was not as good of a deal for us! I'm now working on my miles to visit Disney Tokyo! It will take longer to acquire the necessary miles, but it will save us a ton of money!

  • Great Walt Disney World Tips

That's so exciting Anita! It WILL happen ... even if it takes a bit of time. What a great goal!

Saving Money on Disney Souvenirs - suggestions from visitors

  • Louise Brooks

I've been told that at any popular theme park, there's a Walmart nearby that sells many of the souvenirs you can get at the park for a lot less $$$. It has to be near the park, tho'. I haven't tried it myself. Whadathink?

  • Great Walt Disney World Tips

Yes, definitely! And don't forget about the nearby Disney Outlet stores too.
