United States Marine, Cpl. Todd Love particpated in the Spartan Race battling the course alongside warrior athletes, community members, volunteers, and other Spartans. Love is a 22 year old Marine who in August of 2010 nearly lost his life and all but one of his limbs in a devastating explosion in Helmand Province, Afghanistan.

Three years ago, a roadside bomb tore off the bottom half of his right leg, which left him in a coma for 47 days before being honourably discharged. After a bout with drinking and depression, the tattooed 24-year-old, who is a recipient of the Purple Heart, sobered up and started working out. It was at the gym where he met a photographer who would change the course of his life.
