Books - The ones I fancy
I read what I like. Some of these are very well known, and even according to some "over hyped" or "hip". To those people I say, go away.
"Tinker" by Harding. Read as an old man lies dying in his living room. Experience what he experiences as his time winds down.
"A Visit from the Goon Squad" by Egan. Lose yourself in aging punk rockers, disenfranchised youth, and their rise to country clubs and fishing off bridges.
Salinger's "Catcher in the Rye". I hated this book when I first read it. Then time passed, I got older, and I reread it. I enjoyed it much more.
"And the Hippos Were Boiled in Their Tanks". Kerouac - Burroughs Collab...
"Love in the Time of Cholera"
Kerouac's "On The Road". I know... he doesn't edit, he is overhyped, etc etc... I like his prose and his style. Leave me alone!
