Bernini sculpture in the Borghese Gallery, Rome. Apollo has just caught up to Daphne, who cries out to her father for rescue; she's transformed into a dryad, and is shown turning into a tree. This sculpture is ALIVE.
Michelangelo Moses, (c. 1513–1515), housed in the church of San Pietro in Vincoli in Rome. The sculpture was commissioned in 1505 by Pope Julius II for his tomb.
