Victorian Altered Book

Collecting ideas for an altered book I'm working on from a family heirloom book that I am altering. The album was found in my grandparent's house which they bought from one of my great great aunts. She owned a hat millinery around the turn of the century in Jamesville, NC. This Victorian album included Victorian style models wearing hats, family photos, love letters, and poems she had written. My vision is incorporate everything into a massive tribute to both my family and the house.

Vintage Images - A HUGE collection of vintage images in High-Res (over 30,000 images) to cull through for inspiration and to use in your creations.

Top 100 moments in Fashion #81 : The Heyday of Millinery (1920s) Hats have adorned our heads ever since clothing has been around, whether for the sake of protection or status symbol. But the height of hats as a fashion statement reigned in the twenties and thirties. The focus was on glamour, elegance, and – most importantly – uniqueness...

These Victorian Spandrels (fancy sawed work) look A LOT like the Martin Homeplace. Need to incorporate this as a pattern throughout the album.

Here's an idea- use silhouettes of family members with black frames throughout to give unity. Then, include unedited photo nearby.
