Library, Brera Academy of Fine Arts, Milan, Italy - The history of the library began in 1778 when the Secretary, Carlo Bianconi, began to collect and store books, prints, engravings, drawings and xylographs in his office. His successor, Giuseppe Bossi, (secretary from 1802 - 1807), acquired numerous rare and precious books as well as prestigious collections through exchanges and purchases. The library was also identified as a warehouse for drawings and prints and as an archive.
