"Linked through Literacy" kids spent a week visiting the Library and writing down the names of their favorite books on prices of paper. The class with the longest "chain link" won a special prize! They LOVED it, and it created a nice decoration for the "candyland book fair"!

I like the "You are" statements. This is set up for a writing unit, but you can easily replace the nouns with nouns relating to any unit or content area you are teaching. The visual shows students that their teacher believes in them. It helps to create a comforting, community-oriented classroom. Could publish student writing and display them around the statements on the wall.

I love the way the bright colors..... it looks like a "party invitation!" I know teachers need "quiet" time, but when students do approach a teacher it is soooooo very important for them to feel that what they are saying matters. This desks is friendly and inviting..... It says "I care about my classroom, and I care about you."

I'm obsessed with this teacher's color combos and class decor! I'm considering re-doing my bulletin boards in fabric next year even though my fadeless paper held up great.
